Can We Expect More Projects From Elden Ring’s Director?

Elden Ring has clearly been one of the most talked about and successful video games in the world since its release in February. And, following The Game Awards 2022, it now has the hardware to prove it after the title was named Game of the Year.

After that game won the award, director Hidetaka Miyazaki gave an acceptance speech where he discussed what his future would be like as well as the future of the game. During this speech, Miyazaki said he wants to do “more things” with Elden Ring‘s IP.

“We have faced so many difficulties while developing this game. As a director, I’m really relieved,” Miyazaki said. “And, this might not be the right thing to say, you know, on the occasion of receiving the Game of the Year award, but I have made up my mind to create even more interesting games than this one… As for Elden Ring, we still have several more things we want to do, so getting this award really, really encourages us.”

Besides being a critical success, Elden Ring has been a major commercial success as well. Over 17.5 million copies of the game have been sold worldwide as of November 2022. In all likelihood, that number has increased now that Elden Ring won a Game of the Year award.
