Niantic’s 5G Game Demo Highlights Future Of AR Gaming

Niantic, a software developer based in San Francisco, recently unveiled its new game, Codename: Urban Legends. This multiplayer demo experience offers a glimpse into the future of both 5G and augmented reality gaming.

This demonstration comes after the launch of the company’s “Planet-Scale AR Alliance,” which is a partnership to test AR on a series of global networks. These networks include major carriers like Deutsche Telekom, EE, Globe Telecom, Orange, SK Telecom, SoftBank, Telus, Verizon, and Telstra.

Niantic is a software development company based in the U.S. that was founded in 2010. It is best known for its AR games Pokemon Go and Harry Potter: Wizards Unite.
