Nintendo Made Up 15% Of North American Gaming Revenue Last Year

According to a new report from Research And Markets, consumers spent $42.83 billion on video games in North America in 2020. The report stated that Nintendo generated $6.8 billion (15.8%) of that revenue.

The research firm said that most of this revenue came from the mobile gaming market. According to Research And Markets, there are over 200 million mobile gamers in the United States of America.

Research And Markets is saying that it expects the North American gaming market to reach $83.73 billion by 2026. It is expected to register a CAGR of 11.8% from now to 2026.

The Profit‘s Take:

Nintendo is so easily under-estimated and overshadowed by the “bigger” console makers, Sony and Microsoft. Nintendo’s family-friendly nature and mainstream appeal are true competitive advantages and why we see revenue numbers this big in North America.
