The United Collegiate Championship League (UCCL) in the Philippines and AcadArena Technologies recently announced the two sides made a deal to co-host the Luzon region leg of AcadArena’s National Campus Open. This agreement marks the first attempt to enter into esports for UCCL, one of the biggest athletic conferences in the Philippines.
“We’re incredibly excited to work with AcadArena to enter the esports space,” said Juan P. Lozano, the president of the UCCL. “Esports is something that can provide students with countless opportunities, and we are looking forward to being at the forefront of it alongside an industry leader.”
The event in Luzon will be one of three regional conferences in AcadArena’s National Campus Open circuit. The other two events take place in the Metro Manila region and the Visayas-Mindanao region. The free-to-enter competition circuit runs twice a year featuring titles like League of Legends, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, and Call of Duty Mobile.
