Roblox Developing Content Ratings For Games

According to a recent report from The Wall Street Journal, gaming platform Roblox is currently working on developing a content rating system that is easier to find and use for adults. Content will be rated based upon age-appropriateness to stop children from being exposed to inappropriate materials on the gaming platform.

“Roblox was designed for kids and teens, and we have a responsibility to make sure our players can learn, create and play safely,” said company Vice President Remy Malan. “We work relentlessly to create a safe and civil community and have no tolerance for content or behavior that violates our rules.”

Remy Malan did not indicate when the new rating system will be available at this time. However, Roblox did say it has a team of over 2,300 people monitoring games for safety and inappropriate content.

The Profit‘s Take:

Efforts like this will give parents more peace of mind when they see their kids on Roblox. This will help Roblox to acquire and keep users, but also shifts some responsibility to parents when it comes to content / game consumption.
