“Dr Disrespect” Discusses CouRage And Valkyrae Becoming Co-Owners Of 100 Thieves

Herschel “Dr Disrespect” Beahm IV is a world-famous internet celebrity and streamer. During a recent video, Dr Disrespect opened up about 100 Thieves naming Rachel “Valkyrae” Hofstetter and Jack “CouRage” Dunlop as the company’s new co-owners.

“I think they made it more of a PR thing. It’s not like CouRage is getting 25 percent and Valkyrae is getting like 25 percent. You know what I mean. I think they’re probably getting 1 percent, maybe that,” he said. “Maybe 2 percent stake and ownership. That would be my guess. So then they just decided to make it a big PR move, and there’s your views and impressions.”

On April 7th, 100 Thieves announced it expanded ownership to include streamers “Valkyrae” and “CouRage”. Valkyrae and CouRage joined an ownership group composed of company CEO & Founder Matthew “Nadeshot” Haag, rapper Drake, media mogul Scooter Braun, and Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert.

Dr Disrespect is a current Youtuber and former Twitch streamer. As of May 4th, 2021, he has 3.32 million subscribers on Youtube as well as 243.9 million video views.

The Profit‘s Take:

While key employees getting equity is pretty standard procedure for most businesses, making a big PR splash about it is not. Dr Disrespect is spot on here. This was a PR move to get views, and the reality is that their ownership stake is likely pretty insignificant.
