On May 14th, HyperX reportedly entered into a partnership agreement with the National Hockey League. HyperX will now be the official headset supplier for the 2021 NHL Gaming World Championship.
Daniel Kelly is the Vice President of Marketing at HyperX. He commented on the newfound partnership. “As the lines continue to blur between esports and traditional sports, as seen with the NHL Gaming World Championship, we’re seeing a rise in powerful forms of entertainment that unite gamers and sports fans alike,” he said.
The NHL Gaming World Championship is an international esports event featuring players from North America and Europe. The 2021 NHL Gaming World Championship will see gamers faceoff from April to July in various competitions as individuals try to win the $100K prize pool.
2021 will mark the fourth year the NHL Gaming World Championship will be held. Last year’s winners include Justin “Regs_84” Reguly (Canada), Josh “OFs_HK” Fuss (U.S.), and Arttu “ArtuzioFIN” Mustila (Europe).
