Apparel brand H4X was recently named a founding member of the Esports Fashion Group, a venture project founded earlier this year. As a result, H4X will hold two seats on the Esports Fashion Council. Furthermore, H4X’s Cyber Athletics apparel line will debut during Esports Fashion Week.
“H4X have always been a leader in creativity and innovation when it comes to esports fashion,” said Warren Fish, one of the founders of Esports Fashion Group. “From the brand’s early involvement and activations in the esports space to being sold across the United States in brick-and-mortar stores such as Macy’s, their keen eye for detail is instrumental to their development over the years and continues to not only benefit their brand but also our industry.”
Soon after this news was released, merchandising company We Are Nations announced it will be participating in Esports Fashion Week. We Are Nations will also hold two seats on the Esports Fashion Council.
Esports Fashion Week is scheduled to take place during the third quarter of 2021.
The Profit‘s Take:
This Esports Fashion Week event is a very odd concept. I suspect the execution will fall flat. The reality is most “esports fashion” is just streetwear. I’d prefer to see big fashion houses use gaming or games in some way, rather than an event like this.
