Tesla Teams Up With “PUBG Mobile” To Bring Vehicles To Video Games

Tesla, one of the world’s most famous car manufacturing brands, recently unveiled a partnership with the popular video game PUBG Mobile. As a result of this collaboration, the Tesla Model Y and the Tesla Semi are now virtually available in PUBG Mobile 1.5: Ignition.

In PUBG Mobile 1.5: Ignition, 80 to 150 players are spawned in a virtual world where they compete head-to-head with the goal of being the last person standing. These types of battle-royale-style games were popularized by Fortnite.

“The technological transformation of Erangel has caught the attention of Tesla,” it reads on the PUBG Mobile website. “Tesla will build a Gigafactory on Erangel to produce classic models of its cars, as well as provide more technologically advanced autonomous driving experiences and supply transportation solutions. In the new mode, Mission Ignition, players will be able to experience Tesla exclusive content.”

According to the PUBG Mobile website, the Tesla Semi is available in the game but not for gamer control. It is being reported that the vehicle will “spawn randomly along the road in the wild and will drive automatically on specific routes.”

The Profit‘s Take:

I don’t think many mobile gamers are going out and buying Teslas. I mean, you can’t even drive the Cybertruck in the game. I feel like that was a big missed opportunity for both organizations.
