A new report was recently released that provides insights into the state of the global gaming industry through the first nine months of 2021. According to this study, which was conducted by Drake Star Partners, at least 844 gaming industries deals have brought $71 billion into the market, breaking the previous record.
“2021 is turning out to be a landmark year,” said Michael Metzger, a partner at Drake Star Partners. “We mainly focus on M&A and financings for private companies and Q3 has been an amazing quarter for both. We also expect that the M&A and private placement market for gaming companies to stay red-hot in the coming quarter.”
The amount of money invested in the gaming industry has easily surpassed the amount secured in 2020. In fact, the value of gaming deals in 2021 has already doubled the amount of money brought in through all of 2020. It is worth noting that there are still three months left in the 2021 fiscal year at the time this research was released.
