Treyarch Releases Statement In Response To Activision-Blizzard Controversy

Treyarch recently released a statement that let the world know how it felt regarding the allegations against its parent company Activision-Blizzard, which has been accused of fostering an environment of bigotry and harassment towards women in the workplace. The statement was published on Twitter on December 21st and paints a good picture of Treyarch, who seemingly wanted to create distance publicly from Activision-Blizzard.

“Our goal as a studio is to make awesome games for the world to enjoy,” wrote Treyarch. “Having the privilege to pursue the endeavor is made possible because of Treyarch’s people: we are a studio comprised of smart, talented, world-class creative professionals who seek to perform at our best. Our culture has no room for sexism, harassment, racism, bigotry, discrimination, or bullying. As we move forward, providing a safe, diverse, inclusive working environment so that all may thrive will be our highest priority. Everyone at Treyarch is drawn to game development because we possess a deep love for the artistry of video games and the magic that can create moments that matter. This is a moment that matters and it starts by being better.”

The Activision-Blizzard drama is ongoing and will be a major industry issue until Founder and CEO, Bobby Kotick, steps down. Many have been calling for his resignation for months now, but Kotick has refused, sparking walkouts and several unceremonious departures within the company.
