Back in October, a collaboration was unveiled between the children’s gaming program Roblox and Paris Hilton. This partnership saw the creation of Paris World, “a virtual oasis of fun, possibility and, of course, #sliving [slaying and living your best life]” that was officially launched on October 6th.
Now, Paris is inviting other celebrities to join in on the Roblox fun. In a recent video posted on Twitter, Hilton mentioned the musician Cardi B by name, saying “Cardi B, where you at? I heard you’re a Roblox girl like me. Come party with me at Paris World.”
Paris World is the gaming experience launched on Roblox by Hilton. It features massive DJ stages, Paris’ own house recreated in the Roblox metaverse, a zoo, a private jet, a yacht, and Paris’ own personal island. Additionally, fans can join Hilton and participate with her in online activities.
“For me, the metaverse is somewhere that you can do everything you can do in real life in the digital world,” Hilton said. “Not everybody gets to experience that, so that’s what we’ve been working together on over the past year — giving them all my inspirations of what I want in that world.”
The Profit‘s Take:
I think you could make the case that this is one of the biggest celebrities to get involved in the world of gaming. Cardi B would a MASSIVE pull. It’s an amazing world where Cardi B and Paris Hilton are at the forefront of this global move into the metaverse. I love it. All of these moves and collabs indicate that the metaverse is becoming more and more mainstream. People think that you don’t necessarily need to play video games to be a part of the metaverse. Still, gaming and the metaverse are intimately linked. If you define gaming as the creation of (and participation in) virtual worlds, then the metaverse IS gaming. I have to give credit to Paris Hilton. She is a trailblazer.
