Now that 2021 has drawn to a close, organizations have begun providing recaps of their website’s activity over the last year. So, it is noteworthy that the five most-viewed communities of 2021 on Reddit were all gaming-related.
Reddit is a community-based, social news forum for people to share ideas and information with one another. The website currently boasts over 100,000 separate communities, or subreddits, as they are called. Of the 100K+ subreddits on the website, r/genshin_impact, r/leagueoflegends, r/gaming, r/ffixv, and r/rpclipsgta were listed as the five most-viewed communities of last year.
The recognition of gaming on the website didn’t stop there. Subreddits like r/pokemonunite, r/deltarune, and r/biomutant all experienced record growth in 2021.
Even the r/gaming subreddit made headlines in 2021. A thread on the r/gaming community forum was the second-most liked post on the website last year with over 173,000 upvotes and more than 8,500 comments.
