VR Gaming And Entertainment Experiences Coming To Audi Cars

Audi recently announced that virtual reality gaming and entertainment experiences may soon be available in the company’s cars. This comes after the organization agreed to a partnership with the start-up Holoride.

Beginning this June, passengers will be able to use HTC’s Vive Flow virtual reality headsets in select Audi vehicles to play games, watch films, and enjoy a slew of different experiences. The following Audi cars will soon be equipped with this VR technology: the A4, the A5, the A6, the A7, the A8, the Q5, the Q7, the Q8, the e-tron, and the e-tron GT quattro.

“We are always open to working with other automotive car manufacturers and hope to make as many vehicles Holoride-capable as possible,” said Rudolf Baumeister, the director of marketing and communications for Holoride. “We’ve developed our technology so that the real world and virtual world are synced. “This means that what you see and what you feel lineup with almost no latency — this reduces motion sickness.”

Holoride is a German mixed reality entertainment company that was founded in 2019. According to the business’ LinkedIn page, its main goal is to turn “vehicles into moving theme parks.”

The Profit‘s Take:

I think the next great location that gaming will penetrate will be cars. I cannot wait for this. I would buy an Audi JUST for this. It’s that exciting. Kudos to them for putting VR in cars. I can’t wait to see what it looks like.
