UFC And Skillz Agree To Multi-Year Partnership

On March 23rd, the mobile gaming platform Skillz announced it had agreed to a multi-year partnership with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). This licensing deal was first unveiled at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco. This agreement will allow Skillz to create UFC branded mobile games while hosting joint marketing campaigns with the sports body.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Skillz to bring new mobile games to our fans,” said Tracey Bleczinski, UFC’s Senior Vice President of Global Consumer Products. “UFC is always looking to engage with our fans, and we have found gaming to be one of the best ways we connect with them beyond our live events. Our research shows there is large number of UFC fans who are prolific gamers, so this is a perfect way to reach this audience.”

Select game developers from the Skillz community will now be given access to UFC athletes and UFC IP for the purpose of creating mobile games and marketing campaigns. The first UFC-branded Skillz mobile game is expected to launch sometime next year.

Skillz is an online multiplayer mobile video game platform that has been integrated into several Andoird and iOS titles. The San Francisco, California-based company was founded in 2012.
