Overwatch Players Not Happy With Remix Events

Overwatch players have taken to social media to express their frustrations with the game’s new Anniversary Remix Vol. One event that debuted on April 5th. Many fans have complained that each Legendary Skin isn’t “new” because they are just recolored versions of older skins that had been released in the past. Despite this fact, these cosmetics still cost 3,000 in-game tokens, which is the typical asking price for a completely new skin.

“I get that they’re busy with Overwatch 2 and that’s why the event is kind of half-assed, but why are these so expensive when they’re not new/very impressive?” one Overwatch player asked on Reddit.

“Oh my God… I’d rather just play the normal Archives event,” said one upset commenter.

“I’m sad that we didn’t get some ‘remix’ voice lines,” another game said. “For example, the same voice lines but in their characters’ respective languages or vice versa.”

At this time, Blizzard Entertainment has not shared any information about the other two Anniversary Remix events. However, Dot Esports reports that it seems “likely that they will also include recolored skins” too.

The Profit‘s Take:

So, the skins are just recolored versions of old skins that cost the same as new skins? It makes sense that people are angry! If you’re Overwatch, maybe you’re better off without this. You’re already in bad waters with your players. I don’t know why they would do this ahead of the launch that is supposed to save the franchise. You don’t want to go into Overwatch 2 with ill-will amongst your players. The fate of the franchise is resting on this game. You should do something to make gamers happy with you before you try to launch Overwatch 2.
