Newzoo’s Global Esports And Live Streaming Market Report recently came out on April 19th. In this study, it was revealed that esports revenues will top out at roughly $1.38 billion this year. Moreover, the global video game live streaming audience is expected to reach 1.41 billion people by 2025.
The survey showed that the global esports audience will grow by 8.7% this year to reach more than 532 million people. Esports enthusiasts, meaning people who watch esports content more than once a month, will account for almost half this audience at 261 million people. Overall, the global number of esports enthusiasts is expected to hit 318 million people by 2025, registering a compound annual growth rate of 8.1% percent between 2020 and 2025.
According to Newzoo, digital gaming and esports streams are the two fastest-growing sources of revenue for the esports market. Digital esports will experience a CAGR of 27.2% over the next three years while esports streams will register a CAGR of 24.8% during this forecast period
