Report: Top Ten Gaming Companies Generated $126B In Revenues Over The Last Year

Newzoo recently released a report focused on the growth and revenues of the world’s major gaming companies. Based on this report, the ten biggest video game companies in the world generated $126 billion in revenues over the last 12 months.

The report didn’t have only good news though. Despite these major revenue levels, the ten gaming companies on the list didn’t grow all that much over the last year.

Tencent was easily able to generate the most revenue at $32.2 billion, signifying a 9.9% year-over-year growth level. Microsoft was also able to grow by 9.6% over the last 12 months. Nintendo only grew by 1.9%. Meanwhile, Sony actually shrunk from last year to this year.

Besides Tencent, Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft, several other technology giants were able to crack the top ten. Other companies that made the list included Apple, Google, NetEase, Activision-Blizzard, EA, Sea Limited, and the newly formed entity that came from the Zynga x Take-Two Interactive merger.
