The video game influencer trading card company ProDrops recently announced the organization had closed a $5 million seed funding round. This funding round was led by Playtika.
This money will be used to further the development of Rocket League card collecting add-ons which are supported by the gaming plug-ins platform Overwolf. These funds will also help the company officially launch its product sometime next year while allowing ProDrops to hopefully triple its workforce.
“The global gaming industry is growing tremendously, but it is still far from reaching its full potential,” said CEO Omer Ziv. “The market is eager for products that will enrich the traditional gaming environment, strengthen and deepen the ecosystem and enable a more holistic experience. ProDrops sits squarely in this space as we aim to enrich the world of gaming for all – from streaming viewers to the world’s leading esports teams.”
ProDrops is a Tel Aviv, Israel-based company that was founded last year. The organization creates esports influencer-based trading cards in order to better connect members of the global gaming community with one another.
