Blockchain Gaming Company Created By Twitch’s Co-Founder Raises $24M

Metatheory, a blockchain gaming company created by Twitch co-founder Kevin Lin, recently announced that the organization had raised $24 million. Andreessen Horowitz led this funding round while additional participation came from both Pantera Capital and FTX Ventures.

Metatheory is a company that focuses on developing web 3 games and other types of virtual worlds. The organization is currently in the midst of working on a new game called DuskBreakers, a science-fiction-themed NFT game and metaverse built on blockchain technologies.

“Metatheory is redefining how games and stories are told from the bottom up using web 3 primitives, and we couldn’t be more excited to partner with cofounder Kevin Lin and team on a journey to build the next-generation Disney,” said Jonathan Lai, a partner of Andreessen Horowitz, in a statement.

Metatheory Inc. was founded by Kevin Lin in November of 2021. The organization currently boasts 42 employees.
