Eyewear brand Oakley has formed a multi-year partnership with Envy Gaming, in a deal which will see Oakley become a brand sponsor for the Optic Halo and VALORANT teams, as well as Optic Texas in the Call of Duty League. The five-year deal will also make Oakley the exclusive eyewear partner for Optic brand professional players, who will now use Oakley prescription glasses (if needed) for any and all future tournaments, as well as outside of the arena.
“Our deal with Oakley goes beyond the normal sponsorship,” said Adam Rymer, CEO of Envy Gaming. “This is a statement by a mainstream brand that they’re serious about the cultural influence of esports, and that they carefully chose the best partner possible to help usher them in an audience that expects brands and all of their entertainment to deliver in new and meaningful ways.”
This deal marks Oakley’s first foray into the world of esports, and the eyewear brand hopes that through this partnership, they can reach more of the coveted 18-35 demographic.
“The world of esports is continuing to grow and it’s key that we continue to level up our commitment to the world of gaming,” said Corey Hill, Head of Global Sports Marketing at Oakley. “New athletes are showing up in the scene every day and we pride ourselves in making sure we provide advanced eyewear for gamers of every level. Teaming up with a partner like Envy Gaming allows Oakley to reach talent and build on our offerings in the space.”
