Gaming Platform Bud Raises $36.8M In Series B Funding Round

Gaming platform Bud announced the closing of a $36.8 Series B funding round led by Sequoia Capital, with participation from ClearVue Partners, NetEase, Northern Light Venture Capital, alongside existing investors GGV Capital, Qiming Venture Partners, and Source Code Capital.

Bud says it plans to use the funds to further develop its creation tools, grow its global user base, and roll out Web 3 products. The company also highlighted their plans to launch an NFT marketplace.

Bud is a self-proclaimed metaverse where users can customize avatars while also creating exploring “experiences” from hanging out with friends to playing in any number of available games.

Bud has over 15 million 3D experiences on its platform, while its user-generated 3D assets have been traded over 150 million times.
