Nevada’s Esports Technical Advisory Committee Meets To Discuss Betting Control

The Nevada Esports Technical Advisory Committee (ETAC) met on July 18th with several esports betting companies to discuss developing regulations and to seek the legitimate implementation of esports betting in the state. Said companies included Oddin.gg, GRID.gg, and Bayes Esports, all of whom are trying to help the ETAC blaze an esports betting trail in Nevada.

July’s meeting saw the ETAC collecting expert opinions and examining official data, now at the next meeting, they will discuss whether sports betting rules can be added or modified, and they will also review the board’s Regulation 22 (which covers sports pools and racebooks) to determine whether it can, or needs to be tailored in any way.

It’s no surprise Nevada wants to discuss esports betting, considering how lucrative it’s proved to be. Nevada casinos have seen 15 straight months of $1 billion+ in gaming revenue. In May, casinos in the state collected $1.3 billion in gaming revenue, up nearly 6% year-on-year.
