The video game developer The Coalition recently partnered with the Crisis Text Line, a 24/7 text-based mental health support and crisis intervention service. As a result, the gaming organization announced that it would be donating 1% of all future net revenues from the Gears of War franchise to suicide prevention charities, with the Crisis Text Line serving as this collaboration’s first beneficiary.
“We are proud to announce that The Coalition will donate 1% of net revenue from all Gears of War games and merchandise to organizations working to prevent suicide and combat loneliness through mental health advocacy,” said studio head Mike Crump, who announced this initiative in a post on Xbox Wire. “This is a multi-year commitment our studio is making to give back to our community and create real-world impact.”
This collaboration serves as a part of The Coalition’s ongoing Never Fight Alone program. This project engages with people by encouraging the support of mental health in numerous ways.
The Crisis Text Line is available any time of day in the U.S., the UK, Canada, and Ireland. If you are interested in seeking help via this program, text “PAUSE” to 741741 or text PAUSE to 443-SUPPORT on WhatsApp.
