Mercedes-Benz recently announced that it had agreed to extend its esports commitment with Riot Games through 2025. The German car manufacturer has served as the exclusive automotive partner of global LoL esports events since 2020.
This partnership will be highlighted by the annual League of Legends World Championship. Thanks to this new deal, Mercedes-Benz and Riot will join forces with Aether Diamonds to develop a championship ring that will be given to the 2022 LoL World Champions.
“Winning the hearts of gaming fans is an exciting challenge. Together with Riot Games, we are in the best condition to inspire the community and to successfully shape the future of esports,” said Mercedes-Benz’s Bitta Seeger, in a statement to VentureBeat. “We are therefore looking forward to continuing our cooperation — and to remaining an integral part of the global League of Legends family.”
The League of Legends World Championships will begin on September 29th with the play-in stage. It all leads to the grand finals in San Francisco, California on November 5th, 2022.
