The European video game publisher MY.GAMES was recently purchased by Leta Capital’s Alexander Chachava for $642 million. Chachava was reportedly chosen after a “multi-stage selection procedure.”
The co-founder of MY.GAMES, Vladimir Nikolskiy, will remain with the organization. Unfortunately, this will require him to leave his role with VK Company, MY.GAMES’ previous owner.
“VK will continue to develop its own gaming services under the VK Play brand. VK Play is the largest Russian game platform, launched in April 2022,” reads an official statement. “It brings together all the popular game-related entertainment into one place and includes a catalog of games, cloud gaming, VK Play Live streaming platform, tournament platform, and news media. Vasily Maguryan will be appointed the head of VK Play. He has been in charge of VK’s gaming business for more than eight years.”
MY.GAMES was officially launched by VK in 2019 to help improve Mail.ru’s presence in the gaming space. Since its launch, the organization has acquired several companies, including Mamboo Games.
