John Carpenter is the iconic director that gave us some of the best horror movies of all time including the Halloween franchise, The Thing, and Christine. But now, it sounds like the world-famous filmmaker is interested in video game-related projects.
Recently, Carpenter was speaking with The AV Club when he was asked about the upcoming TV series based on The Last Of Us in the works at HBO. He responded with nothing but praise for the show, saying “are you kidding me? That’s unbelievable. Unbelievable.”
His excitement for video games didn’t stop there, though. The master of horror went on to tell us that there is a gaming project he would be interested in working on.
“The only one I can think of adapting, and I’ve mentioned it before, is Dead Space,” Carpenter said. “That would make a real great movie. I could do that.”
In the same interview, Carpenter explained that he had previously been addicted to Fallout 76, claiming he spent “too many hours” playing the game when it came out in 2018. He said that “a lot of games, they penalize you for dying. It’s one of the things I like about Fallout, they don’t penalize you. You die over and over again on a hard mission. I like that.”
