VCCP Group recently announced it launched a new global gaming proposition known as VCCP+. This entity aims to “unlock the single largest unmet audience opportunity in modern marketing” by helping brands “navigate the gaming multiverse.”
Johnny Shaw will be the CEO of VCCP+. He was previously the chief strategy officer of VCCP NY and also has experience working for EA, PlayStation, Rockstar Games, and Xbox. He will be joined by Havas Sports & Entertainment’s Sashi Nair, who will serve as the organization’s head of strategy.
VCCP+ will use data, partnerships, and global expertise to give “future-facing brands” a gaming strategy. The practice will be headquartered in New York but will also have a presence in other VCCP offices around the world including places like Madrid, San Francisco, London, Shanghai, and more. VCCP+ is expected to be offered to clients as “a core service.”
“The gaming space is completely misunderstood, misused, or relegated to being an experiment for marketers. It is the biggest unmet audience opportunity there is in marketing. Gaming represents the biggest entertainment vertical in the world and is constantly ignored by brands,” said Shaw. “As 90% of Gen Z identify as gamers, the audience of tomorrow is everyone. VCCP+ is here to challenge the status quo and offer brands a way to engage and tap into this demographic in a way that is authentic and will reduce media wastage.”
